Creating a Sun-sational Summer!

You had a great, solid schedule last summer and we’re heading into this summer we’d like to share some of your Summer Success Tips.

What do you do to create a full summer schedule?
I do not make a big deal about summer and being busy. My key to summer months is that I treat them just like any other month that I have bills coming in. 90% of Americans do not get 30-90 days of vacation time. So if they are going on Vacation, schedule it before their vacation if you can. They are broke and exhausted when they come home so you don’t want to schedule after vacation. Just overcome summer objections like we do any other time of the year. Your birthday is June 23 then you comment with something like “Oh, I hope you have a wonderful birthday. What do you say we schedule your show for the 15-20th and call it a Pre Birthday Celebration!” If they say their schedule is busy with ball games then I say “Great, what evening do they usually not play? You will be able to get some orders from the other mom’s you don’t see very often.” Women love free, sometimes they just need some help realizing how to get it.

The important thing is to listen to what the Guests say, and use that to your advantage to help them see that they really can have a party and get it FREE.

What do you do to increase attendance?
To increase attendance, I have my Host call her Guest and encourage them to bring a friend. If she is a Facebook person, have her do a special event, and then the day of the show, I have her send out a quick text reminding everyone of the show…”Cannot wait to see you at my show tonight @7. Bring a friend.” I tell her to do it even if she hasn’t heard from them. A lot happens in our lives from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and those reminders make all the difference!

Is there a time/day you’ve found you get more attendance?
Saturdays are probably the worst day for Shows in the summer. People are very possessive about their Saturday and I don’t blame them. Weeknights are the best in the summer.

Do you incorporate theme shows during the summer?
I do suggest park parties, especially for moms with kids. The kids can play at the park while the mom’s party. If the public pool is in the park, the kids can swim while they party and they don’t even have to worry about watching the kids. Patio and deck parties are always well received. After our long, snowy, cold winter, everyone wants to enjoy the great outdoors.
If you are going camping, make money while you camp. I have done them at campgrounds, around fire pits.

What is your best advice to someone who really wants some great income this summer?
If you want a great summer, just treat it like any other time of the year. Our attitude sets the pace. Be positive and smile! 🙂
Perseverance is the key. Anything worth having is worth working for.
